Jiwa Manunggal

Souls coming together in unity — a collective expression greater than the sum of its parts.

The name

Jiwa — soul

"Jiwa" means "soul": the essence and inner spirit of the individual and the community. It encompasses the emotions, feelings and passion that connect performers and listeners, and the personal enrichment a cultural experience brings.

Manunggal — united

"Manunggal" means "united" or "together". It emphasises the cohesion within the group: how individual talents merge into a harmonious whole.

Jiwa Manunggal portrays souls coming together in unity — a reflection of Stichting Gema Rasa's vision to build stronger, connected communities through Javanese arts.

The ensembles

Three groups within Jiwa Manunggal

Jiwa Manunggal performs in three line-ups, each with its own character and age range.
